Pitiful June

Poor June was sick a few weeks ago with a really high fever that just sucked the life out of her. My always on the go girl just wanted to sit in a chair and suck her fingers. Although it was sad, it was sweet to get to spend so much time holding her. What a blessing that Caroline did not catch the virus and was extra sweet herself while June was sick. Seriously, I don't think she cried about anything and was so happy to play by herself while I looked after June. One afternoon Caroline was walking around with her keys (one of her very favorite things) and voluntarily gave them to June (who of course was sitting in the chair sucking her fingers at the time). That was a huge act of kindness for Caroline. She also spontaneously hugged June for the first time (usually we have to do the prompting)...I think she had a real sense that June wasn't feeling well and just needed some extra love.
